4th CHILDRENS EUROPEAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2000
HELD 1st April 2000
ORGANISED BY: SHOTOKAN KARATE KYOGI OF UNITED NATIONS

Sporthalle Giesenkirchen: exit Autobahn 61 signposted Wickrath and head for Giesenkirchen Centrum
Medical cover will be provided by the German Red Cross.

Qualification begins 09:00 hrs. Finals 18:00 hrs
Start price: Each discipline 30 DM per person. Team competitions 60 DM per team
PAYMENT MUST BE MADE ON ARRIVAL TO THE COMPETITION.
Overnight accommodation available in the hall at DM 5 per child and 10 DM per adult

 

Age Groups:    Boys and Girls from 6 to 17 years of age both under and over 1.57m

Kyu Groups:    9th Kyu to 7th Kyu Kata & Sanbon Kumite

                            6th Kyu to 4th Kyu Kata & Jyu Kumite 3rd Kyu to Dan grade Kata & Jyu Kumite

Kata Shiai         Flag system until the 6 finalists. Finals by point system

                            First round Kata must be a Heian Kata 1-5 chosen by Main-Referee

6th to 4th Kyu Heian 1- 5

3rd to 1st Kyu Tekki 1 Basei Dai Jion Empi

1st to 2nd Dan  Kanku Dai. Hangetsu Tekki 2  Nijiu  Shiho,  Basei  Sho Kanku Sho

3rd Dan above Gankaku, Jiin, Unsu, Tekki 3, Sochin, Gojiushiho Sho/Dai, Jitte, Mekyo, Wan Kan

Katateam   All kata teams must show one basic-kata after chosen by the list

Kumite        Free fight in 2 classes, over and under 1.57m in 6th - 4th Kyu and 3rd Kyu - 1st Dan
9th - 7th Kyu will compete only in Sanbon Kumite, any group that has less than 5 competitors will compete in the next higher group.

SANBON KUMITE  = JODAN, CHUDAN, MAE Geri - ATTACK

BLOCK = AGE UKE, SHUTO UDE UKE & GEDAN BARAI

COUNTER = GYAKU TSUKI CHUDAN

From 4th - 6th Kyu and 3rd - 1st Dan will be Shobu Ippon Kumite.

THE FINAL FIGHT WILL BE SHOBU SANBON

From 6th - 4th Kyu and 3rd Kyu - 1st Dan the teams can be mixed with Boys and Girls together

COMPETITORS CAN ONLY COMPETE IN ONLY ONE KATA AND ONE KUMITE TEAM COMPETITION

Every 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will receive a cup and a certificate.

Team points are 1st place = 5 points, 2nd place = 3 points, 3rd place = 2 points and 4th place = 1 point.

The team with the highest total of points will win the Waldhausen Cup.and they get a Cup

The last date for entries is 29th March 2000. You are requested to provide 1 escort for every 10 children taking part these are to be named on the team list. Clubs are also requested to provide a Dan grade referee or judge to aid in the competition.
